Pardon Me, Would You Have Any Grey Poupon?

Who can forget the classic, award-winning Grey Poupon commercials? They are priceless! Remember–a Rolls-Royce is driving down a country road with a passenger (Paul Eddington) enjoying his Grey Poupon when another Rolls Royce pulls up alongside and the passenger (Ian Richardson) asks, “Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?”

I love it! The original commercial was so successful that they released a stream of others—one where the limos can’t get aligned and another where Paul Eddington thinks that Ian Richardson is actually offering him the mustard. My personal favorite is “The Drop” where they miss the hand-off and actually drop the mustard! The commercial is so famous that it has even been satirized numerous times on shows ranging from Family Matters to Family Guy to movies like Wayne’s World. For the 15th anniversary of the famous commercials, Grey Poupon added a hilarious twist to the famous campaign with the introduction of the new squeeze bottle. They kept the Rolls Royce driving down the country road and this time the passenger is making a sandwich. As he goes to squeeze on his mustard, a gaseous sound erupts and the driver turns around in shock to which the passenger replies, “Pardon Me.”
